Also why are all the qt*-examples not recommended by qt-creator, as any new user of qt-creator would benefit from having the all the examples available from within the IDE without having to jump through hoops.

Just tested here on Cauldron and yes confirmed that it is still valid.

So the fix here is to install qtbase5-examples and qtbase5-doc packages to fix this issue.

Work in progress for Cauldron right now and if all is ok I'll do an update for mga8.

Advisory:

There are some missing required dependencies on our qt-creator package.
If no other packages pulling 'qtbase5-examples and qtbase5-doc' are installed on the computer, qt-creator can't display examples. This update adds these missing dependencies.
Also for mga8 it updates qt-creator to the latest stable release from 4.14 branch.

Confirming the issue on Mageia 8: 
on default install from Classic ISO,
"urpmi qt-creator" does not pull qt5base-examples nor qt5base-doc.


Upgrading from core/updates_testing:
these packages are pulled.

Good.

(Same on Mageia 7 under a VM).
