the script in /etc/profile.d/PackageKit.sh skips package search if it doesn't find "/usr/libexec/packagekitd" which is provided by no package in Mageia.

After removing the check, the command works. However, it fails to install the required packages :

[root@localhost ~]# LC_ALL=C nfrotz
bash: nfrotz: command not found...
Install package 'nfrotz' to provide command 'nfrotz'? [N/y] Failed to install packages: Operation was cancelled

Not working here on my i586 system.

[root@hodgins ~]# nfrotz
bash: nfrotz: command not found...

The above displays immediately.
After a 25 second delay, the following displays, without any time
in between the prompt and the Failed to install message.

Install package 'nfrotz' to provide command 'nfrotz'? [N/y] Failed to install packages: Operation was cancelled

Created attachment 663 [details]
Config change to allow PackageKit to work on slow systems.

After changing the config file to increase the timeout, I now have nfrotz
installed on my i586 system.
Comment 10 Samuel Verschelde 2011-07-30 23:23:35 CEST
Dave's patch worked for me. I'm closing this bug report, please go to bug #2343 and test the new update candidate, which fixes the bugs mentioned in this bug report + dependency bugs.

Thanks in advance.
