Well spotted Arne!

OK reverting summary and leaving NEEDINFO as the OP has still not responded.

Thanks Arne Spiegelhauer :-)

Obsoleting almost all comments, to make this report less confusing.

@Marja
Comment #12 is relevant, it is info relating to this bug sent by the author of another bug marked as duplicate to this. I had no idea who he was when it arrived in my inbox.

I'm not sure what should be done with this report, since that information never arrived.

It was un-"duplicate"ed later, but then closed because of lack of response. It had

    grub2-install failed: Installing for i386-pc platform.

whereas this report has

   grub2-install failed: Installation pour la plate-forme x86_64-efi.

So bug 21573 should maybe be reopened with a comment linking it to attachment 9644 [details], or do you think it really is a duplicate of this report?
Comment 37 Barry Jackson 2018-01-28 15:58:32 CET
I would be tempted to close both.

I suspect that they are both cases of PC-BIOS / UEFI mix-ups where the user has installed the wrong grub2 or grub2-efi.

This error was looking for an EFI folder that did not exist, so I suspect it was a PC-BIOS install which we can't confirm without more info.

The other bug was looking for more parameters to the grub2-install command which the grub2-install from grub2-efi would not complain about as 'no parameters' is normal.

Had these been real bugs I'm sure we would have seen more cases by now.

We can always re-open if more info appears.
