I am not sure it is good idea : it requires OpenGL 3.3 hardware, while abandoned one works in every hardware... I dislike this regressions, we already had Widelands that suddenly required OpenGL 2, I wonder if developpers realize that not every user has recent computers... Maybe in some years, when everyone will have such hardware. Status:

RESOLVED Fair enough. It would be nice to mention this in the upstream bug tracker - it sounds overkill to require OpenGL 3.3 for the kind of graphics used in Trackballs. If the new upstream wants to use funky OpenGL effects, they should be opt-in and the game should still support running on earlier OpenGL versions with those effects disabled. |
