Description rifter rifter 2011-07-13 05:42:32 CEST
I was trying to troubleshoot a problem I was having with totem which happened after I started reinstalling different libraries to fix a sound problem I was having. (It turned out that I had a lot of 32 bit libraries installed instead of 64 bit ones, so I installed the 64 bit versions and got rid of the 32 bit ones -- the sound works better now). Totem was crashing with 'extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display' and an error relating to gnome-settings-daemon.
I tried to run it with --debug and also with gdb, and in both cases it creates what would be an endless number of windows before getting "Maximum number of clients reached" and crashing all its windows as well.
I don't know where to look, and it was suggested I post a bug here. I would like to be able to at least create cores with totem so I can find out what got messed up there.

Sorry for responding so late. We are very short on triagers.

The bug-buddy problem is a duplicate of bug 1503.

I'll leave this bug report open for the totem issue

@ olav

Is the totem issue a duplicate of bug 1174?

No idea about Mageia 1. I need the exact crash output + /var/log/Xorg.0.log. I'm guessing you're just mixing libraries and not enough is installed. Seems more a support issue than an actual bug to be honest.

@ Olav: Thanks :)

@ rifter rifter:

Can you attach the two files Olav asked for?
