Were you using the NVIDIA driver from upstream in Mageia 5 instead of the nvidia-current package provided by Mageia? If so I think we can't really support such upgrade case, as we have no control over this thirdparty driver and it may very well not support a distro upgrade. (In reply to Rémi Verschelde from comment #1) > Were you using the NVIDIA driver from upstream in Mageia 5 instead of the > nvidia-current package provided by Mageia? And if that's the case, that's probably something we should add to the Release Notes instructions on upgrading as well as the Errata, to make sure people don't run into the same issue or find a workaround if they do. I was using the driver from the nvidia website as Mageia 5 provide only driver version 352 and I had a GTX 1070 which require version 375. But few days before the upgrade, I have installed the update where the nvidia 375 driver had been packaged by your team. I have posted few months ago in the mageia forum how about using the 375 driver but everything failed except installing the binary from the nvidia website. The fix would be to remove the nvidia driver from the nvidia website and re-install the nvidia driver from rpm. I don't know if it is a bug or not but moving from KDE 5 to plasma, I loose all my configuration (widgets/theme/windows settings...) So you mean that you installed the upstream NVIDIA driver, and later replaced it with Mageia's nvidia-current-375.66-1.mga5.nonfree when it was made available as an update? If so, did you uninstall the upstream NVIDIA driver, or did you keep both installed next to each other? > I don't know if it is a bug or not but moving from KDE 5 to plasma, I > loose all my configuration (widgets/theme/windows settings...) That's because KDE 4 and Plasma are completely different desktop environments, and a big part of their settings are not shared, so not ported over during a migration. Assignee:

I forget to uninstall the upstream nvidia driver.....I was a bit surprise because when installing the vidia-current-375.66-1.mga5.nonfree, it doesn't require to reboot...not sure if dkms was enabled. > > > I don't know if it is a bug or not but moving from KDE 5 to plasma, I > > loose all my configuration (widgets/theme/windows settings...) > > That's because KDE 4 and Plasma are completely different desktop > environments, and a big part of their settings are not shared, so not ported > over during a migration. I understand. Thanks for your help !

normal This message is a reminder that Mageia 6 is end of life. Mageia stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 6. At that time this bug will be closed as OLD (EOL). Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 6's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we cannot be able to fix it before Mageia 6 was end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- Mageia Bugsquad Resolution:
