Description Davide Nifosi 2017-07-07 07:31:52 CEST
Description of problem:
I removed xorg.conf on my system and use a xorg.conf.d snippet to enable DRI3. Sometimes the xorg.conf file is recreated at boot, and from the logs it seems it's because of service_harddrake removing and readding my discrete Radeon video card for some reason, which triggers a xorg.conf rewrite.

My system is an HP Pavilion 6020el with an integrated Intel video card and an AMD Radeon 6490M discrete card. I want to enable DRI3 because it seems to have better performance and it's less annoying to switch graphics card.

I can't determine what causes service_harddrake to remove and readd the Radeon device during some boots but not other ones.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 17.85

How reproducible: only happens during some boots, not always
