When language is selected, at the end of the license text, it gives the example of MP3 licensing, at least in portuguese. This paragraph should be removed as MP3 is now patent free.

Thanks for spotting this.

Assuming the text you're referring to is this text:

http://gitweb.mageia.org/software/drakx/tree/perl-install/messages.pm#n101 :

sub warning_about_patents() {
N("Warning: Free Software may not necessarily be patent free, and some Free
Software included may be covered by patents in your country. For example, the
MP3 decoders included may require a license for further usage (see
http://www.mp3licensing.com for more details). If you are unsure if a patent
may be applicable to you, check your local laws.");
}

I don't think the above paragraph should be removed, but instead the MP3 example should be replaced with a better one.

Agreed. Maybe we could mention 'tainted' and HEVC in the example :

("Warning: Free Software may not necessarily be patent free, and some Free
Software included IN THE TAINTED REPOSITORY may be covered by patents in your country. For example,

the HEVC decoders included may require a license for further usage (see http://www.mpegla.com/main/programs/HEVC/Pages/PatentList.aspx

for more details). If you are unsure if a patent
may be applicable to you, check your local laws.")

I think it's better not to give any example nor URL, and just mention that some software in tainted may be covered by patents, telling people to refer to the documentation of each tainted package. So e.g.:

("Warning: Free Software may not necessarily be patent free, and some Free
Software included in the TAINTED repository may be covered by patents in your country. Check the documentation of the tainted packages you want to install to assess if they would be patented under your local laws.")
