It does not auto-hide (neither windows do recover it)

How reproducible: always

1. activate 3D desktop - Compiz
2. personalize panel > more parameters > visibility : auto-hide

I don't know whether this bug should be assigned to Compiz, or to Plasma.

CC'ing Compiz & KDE maintainers.

CC: (none) => kde, marja11, tarakbumba

Guessing it is OK to assign to the KDE maintainers, because daviddavid and neoclust have pushed compiz, too.

@ Antonin

Please test whether the issue still exists in a fully updated cauldron, with compiz-0.9.13.1-4.mga7 and plasma-5.12.1 etc.

With a net-installed cauldron-6 updated to cauldron-7
I got
compiz-0.9.13.1-4.mga7
plasma-desktop-5.12.1-4.mga7

This tiny problem remains.

Plasma desktop no longer use Compiz.
Settings 3D desktop like feature is in systemsettings5 (Plasma System Config Centre).

We have not received feedback to the information we have requested above, we will assume the problem was not reproducible, or has been fixed in one of the updates we have released for the reporter's distribution.

Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest update of their distribution, and if this issue turns out to still be reproducible in the latest update, please reopen this bug with additional information.

I'm using mageia 7 since a while now, and both settings still not operate. My system is as follow :
compiz-0.8.16.1-3.1.mga7
plasma workspace 5.15.4-1.1.mga7
KDE Frameworks 5.57.0
Qt 5.12.6 (construit sur 5.12.2)
Le système de fenêtres xcb

Maybe this won't be fixed ?

No, this is not a supported way to use Plasma with compiz.
At this time, upstream KDE/Plasma Developers do not recommend compiz anymore with Plasma 5.
We can't provide such functionality Out-of-the-Box.

Plasma's compositor is KWin, not Compiz.
Compiz is now used by XFCE and MATE desktop.
GNOME and Cinnamon rely on there own windows managers and compositors.

But, to go back to the orginal problem, auto-hide feature for panels:
With Mageia 7 default Plasma install:
1) right-click on empty area in Panel.
2) Modify panel...
3) More options in right.
4) Auto-hide can be selected here.

Resolution: (none) => WONTFIX
Status: REOPENED => RESOLVED
