Closing, won't be happening.

See the discussion on Freedesktop mailing lists, where also the legal consultant of Fedora gave his opinion. Even when following TrueCrypt license, and not using their name and their icons, and doing a full rebrand, you still take legal risks.

See f.ex.:

Because it is not possible to add TrueCrypt in Mageia, can you add TC-Play (https://github.com/bwalex/tc-play ) ?

TC-Play is a free (BSD-licensed), pretty much fully featured (including multiplekeyfiles, cipher cascades, etc) TrueCrypt implementation.

More info about Tc-Play here : https://github.com/bwalex/tc-play/blob/master/README
Tc-Play's License : https://github.com/bwalex/tc-play/blob/master/LICENSE

TC-Play is now included in Fedora and you can find the spec file for building RPM here :

OK, Manuel.You win.
I have sent an e-mail to Olivier Faurax to ask him if he can be my mentor.

Setting version to cauldron, because package requests will usually be done for cauldron first. The package is then expected to be available in the first stable release that follows.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager
