Xorg log file when crashing
For the record, it always seems to happen when I'm using Kate. Is any other info needed to help this progress? You can probably get a useful backtrace by attaching gdb to X in a tty & reproduce the crash. CC:

balcaen.john Looks like: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36319 Please test x11-driver-video-intel-2.15.0-2.1.mga1 from core/updates_testing, should land there soon. Keywords:

Nice! After a couple of hours I haven't had any crashes yet. Will keep you updated. Ok, I haven't experienced any crashes since that latest version, thank you very much for the fix. Status:

RESOLVED Reopening, we still have to push an official update. This is an official update request. @QA, there's no easy way to reproduce this bug unless you have a machine with mga1, which has an intel gfx card, as you can see (in this report and in the upstream one https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36319) the X server crashes on occasion. Installing x11-driver-video-intel-2.15.0-2.1.mga1 from core/updates_testing should fix the issue. Proposed Advisory text: ========================================== Due to a batch buffer overrun bug in the open source Intel graphics cards driver, the X server would crash occasionally. This update fixes the issue. Upstream bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36319 ========================================== Keywords:

Official update request =>
Official update request: x11-driver-video-intel-2.15.0 Antoine's testing shows the update works on his 64 bit system. I can only test that the rpm package installs cleanly on a 32 bit system. In the case of hardware drivers, I think that's all qa can test. Can someone from the sysadmin team push the package x11-driver-video-intel srpm x11-driver-video-intel-2.15.0-2.1.mga1.src.rpm from Core Updates Testing to Core Updates please. CC:

davidwhodgins I've also had no crash till now with this update. It is also x86_64, but the bug was only reported on this arch. CC:

lists.jjorge Validating the update : no crash since one week. Keywords:

validated_update Un-validating : unless I'm mistaken, it still hasn't been really tested on i586. Unless we change the policy, we have to have it tested. Keywords:
