Description katnatek 2017-04-10 20:18:08 CEST
Description of problem:

I download the SteamPunk theme for plymouth and plymouth see it in the list of themes, i set that theme as default (without message of error), but when i run plymouth-set-default-theme -R to make the change permanent the command fails with this message

/usr/share/plymouth/themes//.plymouth does not exist

if i run /usr/libexec/plymouth/plymouth-update-initrd the initrd is rebuild and the changes becomes permanent but in the man is not mention that command so not all users can sort the issue.

Assigning to all packagers collectively, since there is no registered maintainer for this package.

OK, need to change the syntax the right one is

plymouth-set-default-theme <theme-name> -R

example:

plymouth-set-default-theme SteampunK -R

What i have done wrong all this time is make two steps

plymouth-set-default-theme <theme-name>
plymouth-set-default-theme -R

I find the solution by accident :S
