Steps to Reproduce:

1. Start Kmail when 'nouveau' nvidia driver is in use.

2. After 2 or 3 mouse selections anywhere kmail crashes/disappears.

3. (This happened with Mageia-6-sta2 and now with Mageia-6-rc, and has been reported elsewhere)

This issue may be a duplicate of issue 19982. Please read 19982 description and see if it is so.

Well, not exactly (never use Akregator), but I see others in here have reported Kmail crashing under 'nouveau'.

This bug report is solely about Kmail & nouveau. 
  I leave it to the management to decide whether or not this one should be regarded as a duplicate of 19982...

This issue report lacks details (e.g. error messages) so it is not easy to see if it is the same issue as 19982 or not.

If you could post the output of kmail when it crashes, so that a comparison could be made, would help a lot.

I don't remember seeing any error messages when it crashed.
   'strace' might throw up too much, so will look for system option offering crash info.

When running kmail from a console/terminal (e.g. konsole), does it show any error messages?

Just tried from terminal. 
Well, it didn't crash out as has been doing, but after several mouse clicks to select various options it did FREEZE!

This is what then appeared in the terminal session, after the error window appeared ("The application is not responding, etc....):

N.B. I'm soon going to be trying to return to the proprietary nvidia driver (340), so may not be able to repeat the 'nouveau' check!

No such recurrence for almost 2 years so time to Close...
