Description of problem:
I am used to install my systems on USB sticks with multiple distributions. Usually, I put ubuntu isos on it with MultiSystem : http://liveusb.info/

I was my best process to have all my system on only one or two usb stick.

Recently, I try to install Mageia 5.1 gnome dvd and KDE DVD with one usb stick made by multisystem.
I verify the integrity of the ISOs without encounter problem.

The multisystem grub2 worked and show Mageia's name. But after selecting one or the other live versions, it left a dark screen without anything else than press ctrl+alt+del to reboot et retry. Nothing else happen. I have to precise that I tried again my cubuntu distrib to test if it was a problem of key.

I wanted to test Mageia, so I try to install it with two other Multiboot software. I tried http://www.easy2boot.com/ which is the system recommanded on your website. But despite it's not open-source, it's very hard to install from linux system. I success to install it after a long time to work on it. The principle is that we put iso on a folder in the key and the system do the rest.

But I had to transform in some ways the iso, very hard to do in linux. So I did it on my windows system. When the key finally work, the system doesn't work like with multisystem.

With multibootusb : http://multibootusb.org/ the system is easier and more like multisystem. We put isos in an interface which install it and update the grub.
The problem was the same as multisystem. black screen with no reaction.

The next step for me is to test your latest developpement version Mageia6 with Multibootusb. I will come back here to say if it work or not.

N.B
I have to say that I tried the usb keys on 2 different PC to be sure it's not a material problem.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install the software of your choice to create usb stick multiboot (I recommand Multibootusb which is totally opensource)
2. Create your multiboot with Mageia ISOs
3. Boot on it and see if you've the same problem.

Hi, thanks for the interest to Mageia
To eliminate the hardware consideration, can you test the Live Iso written on a USB stick as we recommend (dd, isodumper, Rufus...)?

I already test with a dvd-rw and it worked fine, I finally install the system on one computer, but KDE wasn't updated to 5.8. If you want I can try it with usb stick, but I think it's the same as DVD.

I just tested multibootuwb with MG6. Same problem.

Getting the existing ISOs to work on a multiboot USB is technically possible, but not easy. You would have to regenerate the initrd file so that it searched for the loopback files in their new location.

I will provide better support for this in Mageia 7.

The Mageia 7 ISOs work with MultiBootUSB (http://multibootusb.org/) with a small patch (https://github.com/mbusb/multibootusb/pull/456). MultiSystem and Easy2Boot are closed source, so there's nothing we can do about them.
