What if we check xscreensaver and xcfe4-powermanager settings to find out a good combination so that both doesn't lock screen and ask pwd? Yes, I know. This would be my personal choice, and I checked other xfce distros, they don't install xscreensaver by default. If you want to keep xscreensaver: change it to not ask for the password? But I leave it to you to make a sensible choice. You are more experienced than me.
