Hi,
As you can see in the screenshot, in my tests, the menu icon is present. Is your screen different from that and how do you launch lxpanel?

Right-click the menu button, Settings.
My install of lxpanel uses the LXDE menu icon and not the one supplied by lxpanel as seen in your screenshot.
I'm guessing this is OK now. Haven't tested it, nor used lxpanel in a while. Stig Status:
