marja11 I should note that other people I talked with on ##linux on freenode with Intel Graphics and recent systems were unable to reproduce the problem. I also tried downgrading many packages that were recently installed and it didn't fix the problem. Is this bug still there with new mpv? (In reply to José Jorge from comment #2) > Is this bug still there with new mpv? with mpv-0.24.0-3.mga6 I'm getting the problem when not specifying a --vo flag but not with --vo=vaapi (it plays the video find with it). Hope it helps. If this bug still exists, it is an upstream problem, so please work with upstream or close. Status:

It doesn't happen on the same machine in my Debian Testing partition (which wasn't updated in a while) and running that mpv command line on kernel 4.8.15 built from source causes these artefacts and then the screen and keyboard completely freeze.
