MGA5-32 on Acer D620 Xfce
No installation issues.
Reboot OK (writing this on the updated kernel)
LibreOffice Writer, GIMP, video file all OK. NFS  access to server OK.

I would like to test both this and the nvidia 340 driver. Which would be best to upgrade first, or should both be done at once?

Be aware that I have had some boot trouble with the 340 driver with Cauldron after installing Plasma with the sta2 Classical iso, both if I install from the iso or from MCC afterward. My guess is that it only happens with new installs, not upgrades, but I can't be sure until I try it.

Installed on two sets of Intel-based hardware. One is an i3 with 8GB RAM and Intel graphics and Intel wifi. The other is a P4 with 2GB RAM, Intel graphics, and BCM4318 wifi. Both updates were done concurrently with the Flash 24.x update.

Both seem to be fine, no regressions noted. Virtualbox on the i3 machine would start a Mageia guest, though I did not go on to load the guest and update it.

Feeling lucky, I tried doing both at once. Both the 64-bit server kernel and the nvidia 340 driver seem to be working as they should.

This update is based on upstream 4.4.39 and fixes atleast the following
security issues:

Due to lack of size checking on ICMP header length, it is possible to
cause out-of-bounds read on stack (CVE-2016-8399)

A use-after-free vulnerability in the SCSI generic driver allows users
with write access to /dev/sg* or /dev/bsg* to elevate their privileges
(CVE-2016-9576).

A use-after-free vulnerability was found in ALSA pcm layer, which allows
local users to cause a denial of service, memory corruption, or possibly
other unspecified impact (CVE-2016-9794).

Other fixes in this update:
- fix for HID gamepad DragonRise (mga#19853)
- fix for radeon driver crashing on Dell Precision M4800 (mga#19892)

On real AMD hardware, 32-bit server kernel updated at the same time as the nvidia304 video driver. Adobe's NPAPI version of flashplayer 24 installed, as our version showed problems in an earlier update.

System boots with no apparent problems. Several apps were tried, and all worked.

Previously set VM's give problems after installing this kernel-desktop. Shen trying to start the VM, I get:
"The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or
there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the
kernel module by executing '/sbin/vboxconfig' as root."

But this vboxconfig command does not seem to exist, nor /dev/vboxdrv ?????

did the prebuilt vbox kmods get installed ?
