BTW, using the infinitive form, "Preserve attributes" translates as "Preservar atributos".

RESOLVED Thank you, David, for the explanation and directions. I plan to do it when I return from work (perhaps tonight). Hi! A ticket was opened there: https://www.midnight-commander.org/ticket/3704 Just for the record: 1) Upstream the bug was closed as WONTFIX, and I was directed to Transifex, a translation company which seems somehow to host the efforts for mc; 2) There is some confusion regarding the status of the Portuguese Brazilian translation: Transifex shows a 30% completion mark, while the Midnight Commander page shows only a Portuguese translation as finished (100%). 3) It appears to me that contacting the translation team requires a Transifex account; from the Terms of Service, that would mean some kind of contractual binding which I'm not sure I'm allowed to do (due to my professional activities); 4) This kind of text mode application is harder for less advanced users, who prefer graphical file managers like Thunar; for power users, English usually is enough. 5) for my particular uses, I plan to either use an English version if somehow I manage to make it work, use a graphical FM like Thunar/Dolphin/PCManFM or a textmode alternative without localization problems. The above is written to mean the issue won't be further pursued for a while. |
