This is a temporary situation until default.png link is created by the installer. The background should appear from second boot onwards at present. Yes the obfuscated spec is hard to read and does need changing, so I will look at your work on simplification. I will close this bug as invalid for now as we can live with no background for one boot until this is fixed before release. Please feel free to open it again if you disagree or if the background does not appear on second boot. Many thanks for your work on the spec file :) Barry Status:

What do you think about Georges' idea? The attached is cleaned and modified to remove -common package which is currently empty.
It could be re-instated if/when more themes (really?) are added.
