Setting E20 (Menu > Settings > Files > File Manager > Device) to "Show volumes upon inserting" does not automount external USB drives as it should.

Normal behaviour in E20 is to mount and show the drive on the destop and in the drive list in the Enlightenment File Manager (EFM). This does not happen even thought the drive is recognized by the hardware as shown in /run/udev/links.

Likewise it is possible to see that the drive is connected in Double Commander. However, clicking on the drive produces the message: "The drive is not available". Right-clicking on the drive in Double Commander and then clicking on "Mount" does not work. It either fails with no message. (Failure verified by clicking on the drive again.)

Speculation: This may be related to the polkit issue (Bug 19129) as I assume that polkit would contain the rule to allow (auto)mounting.

I have just indicated this as a major problem as I discovered that Mageia E20 is not even mounting the internal optical drive on my A53S laptop. EFM (the E20 file manager) does not "see" it, and Doublecmd sees the the drive but cannot mount it.

Obviously there are ways to mount the drive manually and perhaps autofs would take care of the problem. However, I have other E20 systems running that automount without autofs.

Colour me red. I swore I had checked that udisks2 was installed, but it was not. Installing udisks2 solves the problem.

I would recommend that udisks2 be included as a dependency for task-enlightenment.

Automount with udisk2 and E21 is working with one exception: the internal optical drive is only mounted if there is a disk with data. It does not mount the drive if there is an unformatted disk, complicating a bit the task of formatting such disks!

If there is no way in E and no utility to automount the optical drive, this should be noted in the release notes with instructions on/link to how to add to the drive to fstab manually.

EFM still does not show that the optical drive is mounted even though Doublecmd show both formatted and unformatted optical disks.

Recommend closing this as "won't fix" for now. I will add a note to the release notes.
