I think it's on purpose that Enlightenment is not included on the ISOs - the size is limited and sadly we can't include everything we'd like and stay below 4 GB for the DVDs. I think LXQt is in the same situation. However, the `s/E17/Enlightenment/` fix should be done. It would have to be fixed at least in: - http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/meta-task/current/SOURCES/compssUsers.pl?view=markup (line 183) - http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/meta-task/current/SOURCES/rpmsrate-raw?view=markup (line 101) - not necessary but better for clarity And maybe someplace else in drakx? Summary:
Enlightenment is not listed as an available DE on DVD =>
Enlightenment is still advertised as "E17" in the installer, though it's at version 20 now We would just need to update the ref catalog then the translations in perl-install/install/share/po Keywords:

Junior_job Why not add a note about on the screen about the availability of "other" DEs and WMs? (Sorry if this is in the "Help", but I do not have the screen up.) I assume that if no DE is specified that IceWM is installed by default, which will give users the ability to use MCC to install the DE/WM of their choice, which would be detailed in a popup window. This uses little space, but gives the user the information to continue if they are/might be interested in other possibilities. (As I recall, way back in Mga3 a user commented on the forum that he had installed E via LXDE. I do not know if that was because he thought the had to install an available DE and then add E later.) Longer-term I can see a need to review packages installed by default. My recent installations are the first since Mga3 and I have enough experience to select packages by hand -- and there were a lot I dumped from the defaults offered. For example, I cannot remember how many text editors (nano, vim, emacs, joe and *several* more) were part of the defaults for E. I am not a programmer so I want nano and vim for command line "emergencies" and "leafpad" as a light-weight, all-purpose text editor running in X. Were I a programmer I would clearly have a weapon of choice, be it emacs, sublime, or whatever and simply make the appropriate selection on install it or later. Even longer-term, during this installation I perceived a slant toward gtk applications (Ekiga, Empathy, Evince), which is logical given that E is likely better prepared to deal with gtk application theming. However, LXQt is, from what I have seen, turning out to be an excellent lightweight DE that I expect to see grow rapidly in popularity (even before Lubuntu manages to make its transition). It is already the light alternative in openMandriva as I recall. The rise of LXQt and the splitting off of Qt apps from KDE dependencies would suggest that the default applications for an LXQt install differ from Gnome/Mate/Xfce/E/Cinnamon. However, that is looking a long ways down the road . . . . As originally reported this is fixed, however, the Mga6 netinstaller identifies E as E20, when E21 is installed. Cauldron is already on E22. For the menus, why not either "Enlightenment" only or "Enlightenment - latest" (the latter because there are some distros that are still using E17, e.g., Elive and Ubuntu). I agree, there seems no need to include the version number when we only support one version. We don't do it for any other DE. I've made the change in meta-task and drakx, so this should be fixed when everything gets rebuilt. CC:
