Description Aurélien Murith 2016-07-31 12:59:48 CEST
Description of problem: Using Firefox on a Xfce desktop, the scrollbar does not reach the edge of the screen, even when the window is maximised. It stays 1px away from the edge, which causes you cannot move it if your pointer is on the edge of the screen (you have to move the pointer 1px left to be able to move it).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox in a Xfce desktop
2. Try to handle the scrollbar with your mouse pointer being on the right edge of the screen.

I'm not sure this is a bug, the handle to scroll with is clearly (on Plasma5, too) not on most right pixels. I think this is just something that different persons have different preferences about.

(If it was different before, that might be because gtk+3 changed, or because FF was compiled to use gtk+2, the latter might still be the case in Mga5)

Can you install latest firefox from upstream, and see whether it behaves better in your eyes?

I tried using latest upstream Firefox (47.0.1) and it works fine.

Thx for the feedback

Assigning to all packagers collectively, since there is no registered maintainer for this package.

Btw, the summary should be adjusted if this is about having to hold the scrollbar handle in FF (what I see in Plasma5), instead of being allowed to hold a pixel on the right of it (as is allowed for scrolling in Konsole)

The only important thing is that one can scroll the page with the pointer being on the right edge of the screen. Whether there is indeed a scrollbar under it is more of an aesthetical detail...

Please change the summary if you have a better formulation :)

Well, it is not limited to XFCE, so removing that, and adjusting a little further.

Btw, with the FF you downloaded, don't you have a problem there resizing the FF window when it is not fullscreen and you want to make it wider?

Summary: Firefox scrollbar does not reach the edge of the screen using Xfce => Firefox scrollbar handle does not respond to dragging the most right pixels of the FF screen

No, I tried but I could not notice any problem.

Bug still present in current mga6 package (45.7.0), still working fine with upstream Firefox (51.0.1)

Source RPM: firefox-45.2.0-2.mga6, gtk+3.0 => firefox-45.7.0-3.mga6, gtk+3.0
