MGA5 -32 on Acer D620 Xfce
No installation issues.
Tried test procedure above, but failed:
The gui presented only shows a login screen, no option to register. I tried to register in  the matrix/jira website, I can login there , but not via the gui of this java: "Invalid user-id/password"

Found out that you must create the user at https://matrix.org/beta.  Once that' done, I can login to https://matrix.org.
