By this, I mean that the disk space on ISOs is limited, and everybody wants different things installed by default, so you should argument why you think inxi is important for most users if you want your request to be considered.
Comment 3 Mihail Bc 2016-07-11 12:05:30 CEST
Remi, with inxi one could find very quickly the info on hardware. Besides it is very practical and used on helping in forums and chat, on or off the official lines. But besides that, think of it as a favor, as a request for an old mandriva/mandrake user that asks you to put JUST another 101 kb!!! on the iso (101 uncompressed, perhaps lower when compressing iso). Dont you think inxi is a must have for any distro? I do. many do have it. Its great!

This seems to be an interesting tool indeed, although I'm not sure it provides information that is not already available.

Ennael, tmb, what do you think?
Comment 5 Mihail Bc 2016-07-16 13:11:10 CEST
already availeble?? How about quite handy?

Assigning to ISO builders for decision

Apparently inxi is already *in* the ISOs, so it is not a question of space (on the Classic DVD).
I am asking for bugSquad that it be always installed, because it seems too useful for obtaining concisely system information re new bugs. Previously, if we wanted its O/P, we had to ask people to install it.

Sadly it is not installed by default.
Asked to do so on dev/qa ML.

Here it is, in meta-task:

Thanks Martin!
This will be pushed in next netinstall build ISO and next Mageia 8 RC ISO build.
Closing this.
