NEEDINFO Hi, I used 'rdblacklist=nouveau nouveau.runpm=0 xdriver=intel' options in grub2, as advised in bug 16245, (https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16245#c5). rdblacklist=nouveau is deprecated, I had to change it to rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau. But in this case, the X server doesn't start at all. It looks as though forcing the use of intel driver doesn't allow the X server to work. Regards, Olivier le Roy

https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18822 I could eventually have this issue solved, though the fix is still unclear to me. I had to go through the installation process of Mageia 6 cauldron again. After update and reboot, I could have access to a console (which was no longer possible before) and I had to remove all Nvidia component the following way: rpm -qa | grep nvidia | xargs urpme After this, I could reboot and, without specifiying arguments in grub2, the i915 driver was automatically selected, and is now functional. Thanks for your help, regards, Olivier le Roy Status:
