Description of problem:
Live installation of Plasma5-LiveDVD from usb to LVM fails with the message 
'grub2-install failed: grub2-install: error: /usr/lib/grub/x86_64-efi/modinfo.sh doesn't exist. Please specify --target or --directory.'
There is no such directory /usr/lib/grub nor /mnt/install/usr/lib/grub. I could not retrieve any installation logs from /root nor /mnt/install/root.

Addendum:

I installed to a single ext4 partition. No separate /boot partition involved.

Its already fixed in drakxtools-17.41, but I havent released new isos yet
