Description of problem:

Using:
Mageia-6-sta1-LiveDVD-PLASMA5-x86_64-DVD.iso
md5sum: 7f2119ea73b31113212de50f6a39a76a
date: 05/22/16

installed as a Vbox client
boots to a working desktop, user = live

MCC -> System -> Manage users
add user "wilcal". User is created. Log out of live.
Errors displayed: 
"akonadi_ical_resource closed unexpectedly"
"akonadi_send_agent  closed unexpectedly"
"akonadi_followreminder_agent closed unexpectedly""
"akonadi_notes_agent closed unexpectedly"
Attempted log into wilcal results in error message: 
login failed

I assume something is missing on the Live DVD?

There is no problem creating a new user in an updated existing cauldron
