Description John Valsamopoulos 2011-06-19 18:58:37 CEST
Could you, please, provide rpm packages for "mediainfo" (with GUI).

There are actually 3 rpm packages that must be installed, in order to work, in this order:
1st: libzen0
2nd: libmediainfo0
3rd: mediainfo-gui (or mediainfo, for command line)

MediaInfo supplies technical and tag information about a video or audio file.
It is free software (GPL or LGPL licence)

The web page: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
The download Page: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download

I have already intalled in my Mageia 1 (x86_64, KDE) the Mandriva rpm and it works, so -I think- it won't be much of a problem for you to do it. It would be good to have mageia rpm.

The Mandriva rpm packages download page:
http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download/Mandriva

The download page-source code: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download/Source
Could it be just 1 rpm that installs everything?

Thanks in advance

Just imported them to Mdv. I could also do it for Mageia..

available in Cauldron

Yes, imported and pushed them to Cauldron. Will push them also to stable release (as backports) when it's possible.

Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for packaging an rpm for "mediainfo" software.
Tested it in Mageia Cauldron (KDE, x86_64) and the main window works correctly,
providing the correct information about the media (tested it with audio & video files).
But there are some things that do not work and some things that are missing.
I want to ask about these, also propose a couple of things I tested (servicemenus).
Should I do it in this thread?
Must I open a new bug?
Maybe, email the packager to whom it was assigned?

Sorry, for not knowing the right procedure, I'm not an experienced user.
Thanks, in advance for your answer.
Comment 6 Jani Välimaa 2011-08-09 10:02:18 CEST
Open a new bug and assing it to me..
Comment 7 John Valsamopoulos 2011-09-08 21:53:24 CEST
Downloaded all the "mediainfo" rpm from Cauldron repos and installed them in Mageia 1 (x86_64, KDE 4.6.5).

Works OK (same as in Cauldron), despite the minor "flaws" described in another report (https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2402).

Now, there is also a service menu for it.

I could say... No, I can say: "it works for me".

Thanks.

@ John,

Do you still need this package to be backported, or are you OK with closing this request?

@Marja

Mediainfo is working fine in Mageia 1 & Mageia 2, in my system.
I believe you can close this request.

Thanks.
