Assigning to maintainer, but also CC'ing all packagers collectively, because the maintainer is less available or even unavailable atm. CC:

marja11, pkg-bugs Test procedure and setup: minidlna creates a simple media server with the aim of being fully compliant with DLNA/UPnP-AV clients. It is developed by a NETGEAR employee for the ReadyNAS product line. It's very simple to set up and use. To install simply go to the Software Management, Install & Remove section of the Mageia Control Center and search on "minidlna". Only one rpm will appear, install that. /etc/minidlna.conf will be created. Using the systems file manager ( Dolphin ) create the directories: /home/user/dlna_share/audio /home/user/dlna_share/video into the audio directory put one or more mp3 files into the video directory put one or more mp4 files Using a text editor in root mode edit /etc/minidlna.conf Make the following changes: # port for HTTP (descriptions, SOAP, media transfer) traffic port=49500 ( or any other port you may desire ) # set this to the directory you want scanned. # .... # .... media_dir=A,/home/user/dlna_share/audio media_dir=V,/home/user/dlna_share/video # set this if you want to customize the name that shows up on your clients friendly_name=your friendly name That's it for the config file. At this point the following file has been created: /var/cache/minidlna/files.db To start the server from scratch I use the following commands in a root terminal: rm /var/cache/minidlna/files.db service minidlna force-reload service minidlna restart I then go to any device capable of accessing a DLNA/UPnP-AV server. My preference is any of the widely used HDTV's. I use my Samsung TV. That device should see the minidlna server and play any and all files stored there. Any Mageia system running KODI will also be able to play any files including files stored on the minidlna server on itself. Can't reproduce. What's the output of 'systemctl status -l minidlna'? (In reply to Jani Välimaa from comment #3) > Can't reproduce. What's the output of 'systemctl status -l minidlna'? Back to you shortly Seems to be fine now. Status:
