Description of problem:

Attempting install from grub2 menu results in simply
being sent to the desktop. Occurs in 05/22/16 isos:

If I did not misunderstand what tmb wrote when announcing those isos, then it isn't expected to work, yet:

>  * no finish-install after install to convert live user to wanted user or

1. failing install option at boot is bug 17870
2. no language etc. questions is bug 17223
3. no finish install is bug 17626

I'll change the summary of this report to reflect the root cause, but won't close the other reports because users hitting one or more of those symptoms won't search for problems with xsetup scripts, so only setting those to depend on this bug.

GDM will never execute such scripts for Wayland. I did fix a missing GDM issue, but IIRC that's way before this bug was filed.
