Description Morgan Leijström 2016-05-20 18:18:25 CEST
Description of problem:

After upgrading a Mageia 5 KDE 64 bit system mga6 i have an entry at login to select KDE4, which of course do not work.

(more exactly I get into IceWM which i happen to have installed)

IIRC it was also the default after update.

selecting Plasma works.

This problem is not seen on another 64 bit system where i installed Mageia 6 fresh.

confirmed here with Mga5 i586 6in1 upgrade to Mga6.

KDE4 is presented as I was last using kde4 in Mga5.
choosing KDE4 and logging in presents Icewm desktop.
however, for me, Icewm is very broken.

1/ sddm login is still displayed, no display refresh?
2/ menu tree is always displayed after use -no display refresh?
3/ closing any application leaves the application on screen - no display refresh?

"Gnome Classic" also presents Icewm desktop

We need to ensure that entries for obsoleted DEs don't stay in the system.

Still valid for KDE in a Mageia 5 to cauldron upgrade yesterday.

(Used method: doing ":%s!/5/!/cauldron/!g" after opening /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg with vim, saving the changes and then running "urpmi --auto-update")
Comment 6 Nicolas Lécureuil 2017-03-15 15:58:31 CET
