Yes, good job, the installation works.
But, once installed, Digikam still doesn't work, at the first launch, after the choice of options, it can't start, there is this message for ever:
Error while opening the database.
digikam will try to automatically reconnect to the database

Impossible to create a database in the settings, by default in /home/<user>/Pictures

Hum. no idea. There is nothing special to see in console trace.

What's happen when you create a fresh account, and run digiKam on a first time with a test collection ? Just to see if it's reproducible.

Note : i devel and use digiKam under Mageia Cauldron, and it work perfectly here...

With a new user, it is the same error message and the same behaviour is following, that means:
- click on Cancel
- new error message:
Failed to open database, you cannot use digikam without a working database, digikam will attempt to start now, but will not be functionnal ...
- OK
- menu Settings/Configure digikam/Database
type : SQLite
Browse... -> /home/<user2>/Pictures
- OK
- error message:
Error while opening the database.
digikam will try to automatically reconnect to the database

In a console, I have a message: QSQLite driver not loaded

^^^ This is the problem. Install Qt5 sqlite plugin...

Comment 9 Nicolas Lécureuil 2016-05-06 07:43:01 CEST
install : qt5-database-plugin-sqlite
Comment 10 Nicolas Lécureuil 2016-05-06 08:34:51 CEST
the new digikam rpm should fix this issue.
Comment 11 André DESMOTTES 2016-05-06 09:20:28 CEST
more precisely lib64qt5-database-plugin-sqlite, yes it works :o)
Comment 12 Nicolas Lécureuil 2016-05-06 09:51:33 CEST
lib64qt5-database-plugin-sqlite provides qt5-database-plugin-sqlite so this is the same ;)
