Description of problem: invoking Polari for the first time requires that the server and channel be set to freenode / #mageia by the user. In all all other desktops this has been pre-set before first use.

How reproducible:


Steps to Reproduce:
1.install Gnome only DE from above .iso
2.reboot and login.
3.invoke Polari IRC client
4.add required server (freenode) and channel (#mageia)

I think there's something missing in this bugreport. Other desktops change Polari somehow? Or should Polari be setting this IRC channel?

There's nothing in Polari to default to some channel it seems, see https://git.gnome.org/browse/polari/tree/data/resources/networks.json. So if this is requested, I can also close it as a 'cannotfix'.

You are correct, there is something missing from the report.

It is that Hexchat and Konservation do default to "Freenode and #mageia", so I expected the same behaviour from Polari.

so, please close as 'cannotfix'

I checked during GUADEC. It might be possible to install some Telepathy things in /etc/skel. But that's a little bit nasty (set once you create a new user; existing users won't be affected).
