Description of problem:unable to log in to Mate desktop after installation
creating a new user (via tty / drakconf) allows login to procede to desktop.
both new user and original user are available choices at login ( choose user ), but only the new user is able to login.
inputting the incorrect password for original user gives "incorrect password" response 
(may be related to bug 18301)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.install Mate only DE from DVD medium and reboot
2.at login attempt to login with user id and password, login is represented.
3.create a new user via tty / drakconf and attempt to login via new user - ok

Thank you reporting Ben and assigning to me Marja.Ben, would you mind to provide journalctl logs when trying to old user login. Ä°t is probably bug 18301 hence new user logs in but i need to be sure.
