Description of problem:

The mageia mirror list contains an outdated link to our mirror, and I did not find a way to update it on the mirrors website itself.

The mirror-list still links to (http|ftp)://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/Mageia but that URL is outdated - the mirror has actually been located under /mageia/ since October 2013. While the outdated URL still works because it creates a HTTP redirect to the new URL, it incurs an additional HTTP request that could easily be avoided. The official name of the mirror has also changed for "corporate identity" reasons, it should now be ftp.fau.de, although the old name will keep on working for the forseeable future.

So in summary: Please update mirror-listing for ftp.uni-erlangen.de.
1. Rename ftp.uni-erlangen.de -> ftp.fau.de
2. Update URL http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/Mageia -> http://ftp.fau.de/mageia
3. Update URL ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/Mageia -> ftp://ftp.fau.de/mageia (or remove it alltogether - nobody uses FTP anymore anyways)

Thanks for this request. 

Our sysadmins are rather short on time. I think it would work faster if you'd add a new mirror "ftp.fau.de" http://mirrors.mageia.org/new

Do you mind doing that?

This report could then be changed into a request to remove ftp.uni-erlangen.de

Btw, please do add all available protocols, even if you think one of them is no longer used by anybody ;-)

Yeah no, we tried that before we opened the ticket, it doesn't work. The website says:
"According IP address, host ftp.fau.de is the same than already
registered ftp.uni-erlangen.de.
This URL cannot be added."
