I'll tinker with this tomorrow ( Monday, 18 Apr 16 ) As you are simply testing things there is no harm in downloading images from the web, like Peter Niven Digital Design at https://goatsgraphics.wordpress.com/2014/03/22/animated-gifs-are-fun/. Try entering "examples of animated gif images" into your browser as well. eom seems to work with everything I have tried so that would give you an idea how they should look. Sorry to keep interrupting the flow but I may have contravened the regulations here. It was a case of shoot first and ask questions later. Uploading third party images to the database may not be appropriate so I might have to delete them or get somebody in sysadmin to do it. I've actually done that before testing image processing apps. In VirtualBox, M5, KDE & LXDE, 32-bit Package(s) under test: gpicview default install of gpicview [root@localhost wilcal]# urpmi gpicview Package gpicview-0.2.4-3.mga5.i586 is already installed gpicview either does not play or plays poorly animated GIFs in both KDE & LXDE install gpicview from updates_testing [root@localhost wilcal]# urpmi gpicview Package gpicview-0.2.4-3.1.mga5.i586 is already installed gpicview plays animated GIFs in both KDE & LXDE just fine Whiteboard:
