The graphical hardware is nvidia GeForce 610M using the default driver selected by XFdrake. Not x11, but sddm. Other DMs start X just fine. Summary:

Whatever this was was transitory. After switching to GDM and then LXDM (which both worked), I switched back to SDDM to get an Xorg.0.log, and now it won't fail. I had used drakdm from a tty to reset the DM, so whatever fixed this was part of drakdm processing. Closing as INVALID. Status:
