Everytime I try to send a signed message with Thunderbird, a window pops up saying 'Creating message...'. Then I am stuck there forever.

How reproducible:
Compose a new message a try to send it signed

Steps to Reproduce:

1. configure a mail account in thunderbird.
2. Add a key to enigma plugin
3. Try to send a signed message

How exactly do you try to sign the message? I cannot reproduce this. On an fresh cauldron, installation, after creating a new thunderbird profile, when writing a new mail, I've selected "Digitally Sign this message" from the S/MIME dropdown menu in the menu bar.

A dialog pops up "You need to set up one or more personal certificates before you can use this security feature. Would you like to do so now?" as you would need to create the necessary configuration when you do this the first time.

How did you add a key to the enigmail configuration, and what key?

I never used certificates for my emails..not yet at least!

If you received previous messages from me on the ml then you see that I sign my messages.

I have these accounts configured some time ago and I just soft linked thunderbird to use the profiles folder, which I use in Mageia 5, Point Linux, Manjaro, Sabayon and a couple other distros.

I'll try see what can I do about it if it works for you!

Please test again with latest thunderbird-45.0-1.mga6

You can also take a look at the enigmail console, from the menu "enigmail > troubleshooting > display console" to see whether you can spot any issues regarding your problem.
