17523 Rather then opening a new bug I think what I can describe here is basically the same fault as what Barry described. Boot to the M6 Plasma desktop. That in either the Desktop or folder mode. Drag a widget or two from the menu to the desktop. Put a xxxx.txt file in Documents. Using Dolphin left button click on that xxxx.txt file. The entire screen shifts to the left opening a new view. Whatever was on the original screen appears to be lost and not recoverable. Even a reboot won't bring it back. Basically you have to start all over every time you open a file this way. CC:

wilcal.int I am also going to add to this bug, and not start a new bug, that during normal operation of Plasma you lose the background image. And that kinda with almost anything you do. Even if that image is in your /Pictures directory. Example: Copy any jpg image to /Pictures. Make that image your desktop image. Log out then log in again. Using System Settings you have to reassign that image to be your desktop background. Even things like opening a .txt document with Kwrite loses the designated desktop image.

herman.viaene I don't think what you describe is related to this bug report. I see nothing that I can relate to dolphin or moving files. This bug is only about the desktop view changing from 'Folder view' back to 'Desktop view' for no apparent reason. I am now 90% sure that this is not related my common home folder as it has happened many times when Mga5 has not been booted. OK I'll open a separate bug for what I'm seeing.
