Bug 18010

N.B. I was asked - when about to make this bug report - to assign it to:

       pkg-bugs-Kfi0mlvI6tSGglJvpFV4uA@public.gmane.org 

as pan has no official maintainer, with a link to
the GNOME bug report, so that a packager can have a look at updating
to the latest "unstable" release

- but that 'Assign to' string was refused, because:

"Mageia Bugzilla was unable to make any match at all for one or more of 
the names and/or email addresses you entered on the previous page."

See https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=756458 which mentions that the bug was resolved upstream in the current git branch.

I see there is reference to Pan 0.4, so just a question of awaiting availability of that (hopefully with the later-mentioned re-compilation v. gtk3)?

Problem still there in Mageua-6-sta1:

Have just installed the 20/6 32-bit Magei-6-sta1 on Samsung NC110 netbook - and Pan 0.139 does work - in a Plasma login!

Its 'help' info says it is V.139 "Sexual Chocolate GIT bf56508" - exactly as does Pan on Mageia-5....

Will soon check this on 64-bit desktop...

(Perhaps the earlier Pan problem was a Plasma problem that has now gone...)

Sadly, Pan will not start on 64-bit install, as before:

So, on 32-bit Mageia-6-sta1 on netbook, Pan works normally, but not on
64-bit desktop...

(In both cases, non-EFI, non-GPT, real hardware)

In the absence of a Pan 0.140 update in Cauldron I installed the Fedora RPM:

   pan-0.140-1.fc24.x86_64.rpm

- and that started happily.

Could you try pan-0.140-1.mga6 that was pushed today?

That update came through today, and works fine on Mageia-6 with 
the Mageia-5 .pan2. 

So as far as I'm concerned this item can be closed.
