I inquired about Mednafen, an other software in repositories capable of emulating the Famicom/NES. But it emulates the Famicom/NES via a core based on FCEUX.

I might have a look myself but prefer not to promise anything yet. The fact that there is only one developer upstream and that all commits logs and scarce comments are in Italian kind of puts me off as a maintainer :)
