Version 2.7.2 of DVDStyler package that comes with Mageia 5 is has crash issues when trying to create DVD disc with either the 32bit or 64bit version of Mageia 5.

When installed, the program GUI functions as normal, but when having the program begin its DVD creation process, this process will hang on the audio files being created in the temporary directory as set in the program. This causes the program to consume memory until it crashes due to running out of system memory.

The forum administrator (doktor5000) created a 64bit package from the latest stable DVDStyler source code for Maegia 5 and so far it appears to fix all issues related to this audio file writing/hang/crash issue.

I have no information about what causes the older version to crash in Mageia 5 but the newer version of DVDStyler appears to already have fixed this issue.

@Chris: If you have no objections and as dvdstyler for mga5 will always hang already when converting the cover menu, and as that version is now nearly 2 years old, do you have any objections on pushing the current version to mga5?

Hello there,
I have uploaded an upgraded package of dvdstyler version 2.9.6 for Mageia 5 in updates/testing. An upgrade was the easiest thing to do according to comments in the previous posts.

./dvdstyler

in a terminal, or through menus, should start a gui. Please, try to create a dvd disc and check that the program does not crash neither hang.

Was able to create a DVD from start to finish using multiple menus and video sources. Only using the 64bit version as a test. Love the new updated version, more templates and seems to be faster at producing DVD also. :)

created a dvd(-rw medium)

i586  32bit system

at completion tray ejected, when re-loaded file browser does not mount disc (to play!).

how-ever disc functions normally in an actual dvd player.
