Got my system to run the live gnome x86_64 by ... alt+ctrl+f2 login as root Run "XFdrake", selecting xorg vesa, and a resolution suitable for the graphics card/monitor. Exit from XFdrake. logout as root login as live run "startx startgnome -- :1" wait ... Gnome eventually starts. CC:

davidwhodgins a less convoluted method: ctrl+alt+F3 [tty3?] login as "root" run "drakx11" and setup x-server, then "ok". wait for the prompt run "systemctl restart gdm" @ Ben @ Dave Which video cards do you have? Or give the output of: lspcidrake -v | grep Card Keywords:

NEEDINFO (In reply to ben mcmonagle from comment #2) > a less convoluted method: > > ctrl+alt+F3 [tty3?] > login as "root" > run "drakx11" and setup x-server, then "ok". wait for the prompt > run "systemctl restart gdm" That fails unless I change the driver to vesa (In reply to Marja van Waes from comment #3) > @ Ben > @ Dave > > Which video cards do you have? Or give the output of: > > lspcidrake -v | grep Card Card:ATI Radeon HD 5000 to HD 6300 (radeon/fglrx): Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
