wgetpaste had not been updated for a while in Mageia so it would not work out of the box, as most of its pre-defined services were obsolete.

I updated it to the latest upstream version, and it now works out of the box.
It's only a bash script so I don't expect big regressions nor the need for heavy testing.

  The wgetpaste script in Mageia has not been updated for a while and listed many
  obsolete pastebin services. It has been updated to the latest upstream version,
  thus adding new working services and various functions.
  Please refer to `wgetpaste --help' for more information.

To test it, you can use e.g.:
$ cat /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop | wgetpaste

Also see `wgetpaste --help' for more info about parameters that you can use to specify a different service or configuration.

--debug to get the output from wget that can help diagnose it correctly.
