mga5 x86_64 Mate Installed all the packages. glxgears still runs fine. $ urpmq --requires-recursive mesa returns 149 packages and applications. Checked hostname and which. Marking this OK and waiting for objections. CC:

MGA5-64-OK mga5 i586 vbox Mate Installed the updates in virtualbox. Ran a few commands like hostname and which and several of the mesa-demos programs: tunnel, tunnel2, the various gears programs, tristrip, vsraytrace... No problems. Validating this.

MGA5-64-OK MGA5-32-OK Advisory added. Removing the validated keyword for now. This has both core and tainted versions that need to be tested. Len, did you test both, or if not, which version has been tested? Keywords:

(none) The only difference is that the tainted build pulls libtxc-dxtn for compressed textures Sorry for not noticing that Dave. Tested only one but need to check which one. later. Yes, it was mesa-10.5.9-3.mga5.x86_64 that was tested. Installed all the candidates from Tainted Updates Testing and ran several of the mesa demo programs; gears, glxgears, geartrain, tunnel, tunnel2. [lcl@vega ~]$ geartrain 301 frames in 5.015 seconds = 60.0199 FPS 300 frames in 5.004 seconds = 59.952 FPS 300 frames in 5.004 seconds = 59.952 FPS 300 frames in 5.005 seconds = 59.9401 FPS [lcl@vega ~]$ tristrip GL_RENDERER = GeForce GTX 770/PCIe/SSE2 GL_VERSION = 4.5.0 NVIDIA 346.96 GL_VENDOR = NVIDIA Corporation [lcl@vega ~]$ vsraytrace GL_RENDERER = GeForce GTX 770/PCIe/SSE2 So the MGA5-64-OK still stands. Shall check 32-bits some time this afternoon. mga5 i586 vbox Mate Installed the update candidates from Tainted and first of all ran glxgears. Looks like my virtualbox is not properly set up. glxgears ran OK but returned infrastructure errors. [lcl@cursa ~]$ glxgears libGL error: pci id for fd 4: 80ee:beef, driver (null) libGL error: core dri or dri2 extension not found libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo 3714 frames in 5.0 seconds = 742.637 FPS 3795 frames in 5.0 seconds = 758.869 FPS 3850 frames in 5.0 seconds = 769.817 FPS 3816 frames in 5.0 seconds = 763.079 FPS 3832 frames in 5.0 seconds = 766.207 FPS Does that mean that vboxvideo has to be installed in the guest as well? Not too familiar with what virtual boxes require. [lcl@cursa ~]$ tunnel2 Tunnel2 V1.0 Written by David Bucciarelli (tech.hmw@plus.it) libGL error: pci id for fd 4: 80ee:beef, driver (null) libGL error: core dri or dri2 extension not found libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo Frame rate: 55.000000 Frame rate: 85.032326 Frame rate: 84.957524 Frame rate: 82.423041 [lcl@cursa ~]$ tristrip libGL error: pci id for fd 4: 80ee:beef, driver (null) libGL error: core dri or dri2 extension not found libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo GL_RENDERER = Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.5, 256 bits) GL_VERSION = 3.0 Mesa 10.5.9 GL_VENDOR = VMware, Inc. VBox has no 3D acceleration for Linux guests (at least not on Linux hosts) OK. Thanks. The demonstrations work anyway so this passes the i586 test. OK to validate this again Dave?
