valid for both live plasma5 dvd i586 and x86 dated 17 Jan 2016

to continue installation: tty2 => login as root => systemctl stop sddm.service,=> run drakx11, => tty2 again => systemctl start sddm.service
Comment 2 Ben McMonagle 2016-01-28 08:22:51 CET
a simpler work-a-round

ctrl+alt+F2 [tty2?]
login as "root"
at the prompt: "drakx11", set up x-server, monitor and resolution, then "ok"
at the prompt: "systemctl restart sddm"

output from lspcidrake -v | grep Card

$  lspcidrake -v | grep Card

sorry for the long delay - been testing the Classicals.

improvements: now eventually does get to the desktop with no user intervention.

However, the 1/2 page of recurring : "Error getting authority: error initializing authority:Could not connect: No such file or directory (g-io-error-quark, 1)" is still displayed part way through the boot up.

so, still valid for, from DVD:
