Description livio salarol 2015-11-12 11:19:08 CET
I refer at Bug 12954 in mageia4 because is very similar, but only if i use
kernel 4-1-12 and breadcom driver of same kernel, because, if a try to use this kernel, wi-fi turn-off on bios and not work , i need to restart turn-on by bios on my pc Compacq 6720s

Fortunatly, if i use kernel 3.19.8 and broadcom-wl 6.30.223.xxx driver of this kernel, it work fine, but it is a problem because i need kernel 4.1.12 for other sw like virtualbox 5.0.8 that don't work in 3.19.xxx kernel, i needed install previous version

Sorry for my English
many tanks

I can confirm this on HP Compaq 6715s, with a slight difference: Kernel 4.1.12 breaks Wifi, and screen turns to black (looks like its turned off) on boot. With 4.1.13-testing screen is back, but wifi remains dead until BIOS reset. With Kernel 4.1.8 all is fine. For output of lspci look here:

Zézinho, assigning to you, because without assignee this report is forgotten.

However, feel free to reassign to tmb if this isn't a broadcom-wl issue

Well, I suggest try using 4.4.0 kernel in backports testing, or b43 driver. Because as this is closed source driver, nothing to hope except if you contact upstream. Latest version they provided was in January 2015, 4.x kernels didn't exist!
