cjw Do you have any extensions installed (flash, notably)? Although iceape 2.38 likes to crash on cauldron, no crashes occurred during testing on Mageia 5 and I still have not seen any crash in my mga5 VM. Does it crash every time on a specific web page? Yes, flash is installed as well as Adblock Plus, but aren't they disabled in safe mode anyway ? I just started in normal mode and disabled all extensions but that didn't help- iceape crashed on the Mageia web page. It took a a couple of minutes and I had to follow quite a few links, but then it crashed. And no, it doesn't take a specific web page to crash it. I built a 2.39b1 package but that does not help at all, it still crashes in cauldron. But there have also been reports about firefox crashing, apparently due some issues with cairo vs multi-threaded rendering (OMTC). Can you try to set layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled to false in about:config and report if this fixes the crashes? Okay, so far no crashes with layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled but I found another thing that doesn't work, I'll open another bug for it. Since in iceape-2.40-1.mga5 layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled seems to be set to false by default and this fixes the issue I guess this is resolved. Status:
