ok, so that sounds like a crappy or broken usb hub... Can you do this: with hub unplugged, reboot the system, plug the usb stick, wait for the notification, and as root grab journalctl -b log and output of lsusb then unplug the stick, reboot the system, plug the usb hub, grab lsusb output, then plug the usb stick in the hub, wait for the notification, and as root grab journalctl -b log and output of lsusb CC:

lsusb output when USB3 stick in port of PC
Confirm that plugging USB3 stick into port of PC gives quickly notification. Note: the journal file first posted is wrong, I'll do that again later. With the USB hub plugged in at reboot, and plugging in the mem stick, there was still no notification after some 15 minutes. So I did the commands (result files XXXXXXpre), then ran the "Browse hardware" in MCC, which immediately provoked the notification and the reran the commands (files XXXXXpost) Hope this helps. Note since my first log mentioned in the Description, I installed Mageia 5 on the PC, so different behavior is not exceptional I guess. Created attachment 7049 [details]

So what's the verdict? @ Herman Of course, if the issue got solved in the meanwhile, then please close this report :-) Keywords:
